Five years ago, I wasn’t comfortable talking to people about my sister Alissa. Through Project Focus, I became closer with other kids in similar family situations to me. I learned to be more confident with myself and to share the story of my sister with other people.  Since ProjectFocus, I have done multiple speeches for my school and for HUGS about the joys of having a family like mine. I’m proud of the meaningful relationships I’ve created with people, and I’m proud of who I’ve become; I’ve been successful in track and field, I am the Editor-in-Chief for my school newspaper, “Imua ‘Iolani,” and I’m about to graduate. Someday, I hope to become an entrepreneur and start a business that would help people.
