Gerald Teramae of Honolulu, is head of school for Island Pacific Academy (IPA), a private K-12 school located in Kapolei, Oʻahu. Prior to joining IPA in 2014, he served as dean of lower school for ʻIolani School. Teramae started his education career as an elementary teacher at Maiʻili Elementary School and held numerous leadership positions at Oʻahu public schools during his 22-year tenure with the Department of Education. He has extensive experience in secondary and elementary education policies, strategic planning, standards-based education and program and curriculum development. He has a Bachelor of Education, Professional Diploma in Elementary Education and a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. He also participated in the Certified Program for School Leadership (CPSL).
