Charleen

Born: 1939

Accessories loving Charleen arrived in Hawaiʻi from Buffalo, New York, in the 1960’s to escape the bitter cold of the Northeast. An extraordinarily shy child, Charleenʻs greatest accomplishment in life has been her ability to overcome her shyness to achieve a career in teaching that spanned decades. Her father had the greatest impact on her life and taught her to be kind and generous to others regardless of their race, gender or color. His legacy lives on through her as she counts her blessings daily for the service of those who now care for her. She shared that “The staff here has taught me to be more humble and patient. I did not expect to be here at this point in my life, but I now understand that God guided me here to learn lessons that were needed. I am grateful.”
