Deneen Nakashima is a CPA with MC Group Hawaii, Inc. She is the former tax partner of PKF Pacific Hawaii. Prior to that she was with Grant Thornton LLP for over 20 years and was the Honolulu office tax practice leader. Her experience in tax compliance and planning include assignments covering individuals, trusts and estates, partnerships, corporations and closely held businesses. She has worked with a variety of organizations including international companies and companies in retail, manufacturing, distribution, financial institutions, real estate development, construction industries, and not-for-profit organizations.
Deneen earned her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is a director of the Tax Foundation of Hawaii; audit committee chair of the Honolulu Japanese Chamber of Commerce; treasurer of ProjectFocus Hawaii; and treasurer of Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation. In addition, Deneen is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Hawaii Society of Certified Public Accountants. She was also recognized as one of Pacific Business News’ Women Who Mean Business in 2011.
